Google Cash
Google Cash, by Chris Carpenter, is an e-Book that describes how to use Google Adwords to promote affiliate products and services for profit. It was first released in 2003.
In Affiliate Marketing a merchant pays an affiliate (you) to generate sales using a button, banner, a link on your website, email, newsletter, or pay-per-click ad.
There are thousands of merchants in hundreds of industries that are willing to pay you a commission to generate leads, registrations or sales.
It is easy to become an affiliate. There are several large Affiliate Program Providers (APPs) that you can join for free. APPs serve as a go betweens for companies and affiliates. As an affiliate they provide a valuable service. They collect payments from the merchant and consolidate affiliate payments and reporting
Google AdWords is a pay-per-click advertising system maintained by Google. If you use Google you have probably seen the AdWords. Little text ads along the right hand side of the page under the title Sponsored Links.
All you need to get started is;
? Google Cash e-Book
? A computer with access to the internet
? A Bank account to deposit your commissions
? A credit card to bid on Google Adwords
? A few hours of time
How Google Cash Works
1. Join an Affiliate Program Provider such as Commission Junction, Clickbank or Linkshare.
2. Locate a profitable product to promote.
3. Build a list of keywords that people would likely consider using to search for the product.
4. Write some effective ads for Google Adwords campaign using your keywords.
5. Log into your Google Adwords account, create a Campaign and submit the ads with their corresponding keywords. Put a link with your Affiliate ID in the destination URL, and put a bid in on the keywords for just .05 each.
6. Monitor the Campaigns for maximum profitability.
7. Pay for your Google Adwords campaigns.
8. Collect the commissions.
9. Repeat the process to generate multiple streams of income!
Sounds Simple Right?
The process does sound simple, BUT...
There are a few hurdles:
The key to being successful, especially in a saturated market, is keyword research. When a market is saturated there can be much competition. You want to bid the least amount for your keywords so your campaigns are as profitable as possible.
You can use the Overture Keyword Suggestion tool to see what keywords people using to find your product. Then use the Overture Maxbid Tool to see how much people are bidding on your keywords.
You should look for keyword phrases that maybe have a lower search count but are more targeted.
For example; I have a friend who was paying high dollar for pay-per-click rates for the popular keyword "Plasma TV". His sales of TV's online were dismal.
But, sales on light bulbs for overhead projectors skyrocked! This was because he was using the specific manufacturer's product code for that particular bulb.
When searchers are looking for a specific item they are ready to buy. Those searching for Plasma TV's were probably not ready to buy.
Once he found this out he bid on very specific Plasma TV keywords like; Sony BRAVIA KDL-V40XBR1, Sony LCD HDTV Monitor, and Sony KLV-S26A10. His campaigns became very sucessful once he had applied what he'd learned.
The next hurdle is the steep learning curve with Google AdWords. It is real easy to make costly mistakes. You could end up losing a bunch of money if you're not careful. I was afraid of losing my shirt so I didn't jump in with both feet just yet.
First, I took the Google AdWords video tutorial. There is a great deal of information to digest so you have to take it one step at a time.
I also searched for anything Google AdWords related and found many free articles about using Google AdWords in various ways. It was here that I heard about people pay way too much for keywords and not getting any conversions and losing money.
I recommend joining Chris Carpenter's Adword Mentor program. It has many resources that will help ease the learning curve. Plus you get to rub elbows with other marketers of all experience levels. I joined it just the other day and I found answers to my questions.
Stay tuned for my next article on Google Cash. I will show you about how to set up a Google Adwords Campaign.
